Great lobby vibe, friendly staff and patrons, cool amenities , helpful proprietor, fresh coffee in the morning, clean bathrooms and general areas.

The hostel has a great vibe with friendly staff and interesting patrons. The amenities, including the jacuzzi and sauna, were cool. The owner was easygoing and accommodating, even providing a spot for my trailer. The beds were set up nicely with individual lockers and curtains for privacy. It was a nostalgic stay and I would love to come back with a group of friends to fully enjoy the area.

Felt very at home, no complaints.

Each guest gets their own bed. Access to the skyway and a good view of the parking lot. Owner is easygoing and accommodating. Lowest price found for Saturday night in downtown. Nostalgic stay, great for groups.

My stay at the Hostel Du Nord was a blast! The nostalgic vibes and wooden bed frames made for a peaceful night's sleep. The staff were super cool and the entire place was spotlessly clean. Plus, having access to a sauna was a total bonus!

The breakfast offerings could be improved with a greater variety of food.

my second stay in duluth was even better than the last! Du Nord really impressed me with their friendly staff, cozy beds, and amazing sauna. Plus, the view from the skyway was incredible. Can't wait to come back!

    Noisy during the night.

From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, the vibrant and welcoming vibe of the place was undeniable. The staff and fellow guests were incredibly friendly and made my stay enjoyable. Plus, the amenities like the jacuzzi and sauna were a fantastic bonus that added to the overall experience.

The price of the hotel was quite steep compared to other options. While the place offered a great experience, it was hard to justify the cost when one could get a hotel room for a similar price.

I stayed at Hostel Du Nord for nostalgia purposes, reminiscing about my first hostel experience back in 1987. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the colorful stairs and the friendly staff. The lobby had a great vibe, and the amenities like the jacuzzi and sauna were a bonus. The staff and other guests were all welcoming and interesting. I appreciated the personal touch of the proprietor taking the time to chat with us and offer tips. Another highlight was the fresh Duluth Coffee Company in the morning, and having ear plugs available at the front desk.

    Strongly recommend this hotel.

I recently stayed at Hostel Du Nord for a nostalgic trip down memory lane, having last stayed in a hostel in 1987. From the moment I walked in, I knew this place would be amazing. The colorful stairs and trendy common area created a welcoming atmosphere. The staff and fellow guests were incredibly friendly. Jason, in particular, was fantastic with communication and the tour of the facilities was impressive. The numerous amenities, including a sauna, were a bonus. The parking was also convenient and the price was the lowest I could find for a Saturday night stay. I can't wait to return with a group of friends and truly enjoy the area.

    Would recommend this hotel.

We had a great time exploring the area while staying at this centrally located hostel. It provided easy access to the magical wonders and sites of the city. The affordable price of $116/night for a Saturday night was a definite advantage. The nostalgia of staying in a hostel added a unique charm, and I would love to experience it again with a group of friends.

The rumors about the owner's inappropriate behavior with women were unsettling and made us uncomfortable staying at the hostel.

The value for money at Du Nord was great - clean rooms with comfortable beds and access to a sauna. The location was perfect, right in downtown near all the magical wonders and sites of the area. The staff treated us well, making our stay easygoing and enjoyable.

Breakfast choices could be improved with more variety.

The price for a night's stay was very affordable, making it one of the lowest options in the area. The bathrooms, floors, and general areas were kept clean, and the sheets in our room were clean as well. We also appreciated the respectful atmosphere, with guests being considerate of noise levels and each other.

There were limited bathroom facilities available, with only two bathrooms for over 20+ guests to share. This could lead to longer wait times during peak hours.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The cleanliness was top-notch, with clean bathrooms, floors, and general areas. The sheets on the beds were also clean, and each guest gets their own locker. I loved the setup of the beds, with individual lockers, cubbies, and a light inside the bunk, along with a privacy curtain. The owner was very easygoing and great to work with. Additionally, the location of the hotel was perfect, right downtown and close to many of the city's magical wonders and sites.

Couldn't stay longer, as I wish I could have enjoyed this amazing hostel for a longer period.
